Network Marketing, Soon to be Social Network Marketing

Social Media is changing everything, It’s about to change our world of network marketing.

And our customers will not even know they are involved in an MLM.  I wrote a bit about the future of social networks on my network marketing page.  I don’t think Facebook will own it for long.

The old ways of Network Marketing are still around, most of the companies that are more than 15 years old use the model.  They sell a product at a price that is way more than what you can buy it for at the store.  The reason for this is simple, they need to make money as a company and they also have to pay all the distributors within the down-line that qualify for a commission. I recently wrote a blog about Eiro Research, a nutrition company that went out of business.  I had a guy trying to sell me a case of energy drinks from Eiro, FOR $60.00! Thats a bit pricey compared to most that are $20-$30

There are some companies that will tell you it’s because their product is not comparable to anything you can buy at the store.  I might agree with some of them, but very few.

If you want long term residual income, you need customers / reps that are happy using the product and not making any money as a rep.  This can get hard because most people initially get involved in Network Marketing to make some extra money.  When they aren’t making any money, like 90% of them, they quit using the product and quit the business.

Because of the internet, companies are now able to do things different.  I personally would never join a company if the product price was inflated to more than what I can buy it for somewhere else.  In fact, the reason I got involved in my first network marketing company is because I was shown a way to do something I was already doing for less money.  I guess I got lucky no one showed me something different.

I think that there will be some really cool concepts that will hit the market really soon.  These companies will revolve around social media.  I know of some that are in development right now, I also know within a few months, I’ll be working on my business in a totally different way.  I’ll be able to sign up thousands of people that might not ever know they are signed up in a network marketing company, and when they do find out, they will beg me to become a distributor.
