Phone Apps For Bar’s And Restaurants

Do You Need A Phone App?

I was recently asked from a fellow bar owner friend if I knew anyone that could build him a phone app for his business, I asked him why do you want a phone app?  His answer was classic “No clue, just thought I would keep up on technology”

I’ve been approached by several companies looking to sell me on having my own phone app for Jerseys Bar And Grill, my first question has always been to the sales guys, when people on average have between 25 – 40 different apps on there phone, why do they want to load my app.  They always come back with the same answer, you can do push notifications with different specials to your customers whenever you want, people can make reservations, they can look at whats on special, they can do this, that and blah blah blah!  I always will listen because I always figure someone will create something so unique that I don’t want to miss it.

My answer to them is always the same, I have a website with all the information people need and it’s mobile friendly.  I use email marketing, text marketing and am  already on a lot of the apps people already have on there phone like facebook, yelp, foursquare  and foodspotting.  I feel like people might download the app but then they would turn off the push notifications and it will get lost in the midst of the 40 other apps on there phone.

The only time I think an app is a good idea is if your a huge chain and have thousands of locations.  If your thinking about getting a phone app for your business, ask yourself this question, would you load apps for all the places you go out drinking or eating?

Mike Dillards, Elevation Groups How To Think Like The Rich

How to think like the rich

I started Mike Dillards Elevation Group yesterday, I was going to wait to get involved in it considering I had a lot going on in my life right now, but knowing that the program is all about how to benefit from the transfer of wealth that is about to take place, I had to join.

Mike Dillard starts the program out trying to get people in the write frame of mind.  How to think like the rich.  I’m 35 now and this article really hit me, my wife Shelley and I purchased our restaurant / bar in 2001.  After reading some of the principles he teaches, I realized a lot of what he teaches, I’ve been doing most of it without even knowing, but I’ve been missing some key components.

There are 5 steps Mike Dillard talks about, I’m going to post 5 separate blog posts because I don’t type that fast.

Step 1  Forget About the Past And The Present

This is one step that has held me back the last few of years, we have owned a bar restaurant called Jerseys Bar And Grill since 2001, the last 3 years we have had a lot of road construction basically shutting down our road for 6 months every summer.  They completed the job in November 2010 and now in Feb of 2011 we finally are seeing the business back to what it should be.  Over the last few years I have been thinking about how much this has effected us on a daily basis, all this has been doing is dragging me further down the path I’ve been thinking about.

I never had a problem controlling my thoughts before then and didn’t realize what a negative effect it has had on my business.

The past is the past, and now I realize I’ve been dwelling on it!  To acquire wealth right now you need to make a conscious decision not to dwell on what has happened in the past and to let go of the present.

Watch For Step #2 Soon, Check out whats all inside The Elevation Group, you can take the tour.

The Elevation Group

Mike Dillards Elevation Group

Since writing this post I joined The Elevation Group, I will be posting about what I learn on a regular basis.  You can find the posts under The Elevation Group categories.

I watched the video presentation on the Elevation Group, Mike Dillards new company.  I’ve learned a lot from Mike Dillards other programs for network marketing, I think it’s really cool that he is starting to expand his skills to the everyday person looking to make the right investment.  Weather it be Gold, Silver, Real estate or if you want to know more about 401k plans and tax advantages of the rich.

I haven’t purchased the program myself yet, the main reason I haven’t is because I’m to busy with  a different program right now.  I have invested in some of Mike Dillards tools, the 1st one being Magnetic Sponsoring.  I do plan on joining The Elevation Group sometime soon.

If you’ve enrolled in The Elevation Group, Lets start a discussion on this page.  I’d love to hear how it is going for you or maybe you joined and haven’t even done anything with it.  80% of all programs and books purchased never get finished.  Sounds sad but that’s how it is with anything is seems.  My biggest problem with some of the people who don’t finish a program is they complain that they got ripped off, even though they never took the time to do anything.

Here is a list of questions I have for you, lets be honest here.  I’ll be the 1st to comment and answer them.

  1. Are you a member or intrigued by The Elevation Group
  2. Do you agree with Mike Dillard that the dollar will collapse
  3. Have you done any of Mike Dillards programs in the past, is so, what ones and are you happy with the results
  4. Have you signed up for any other programs, if so which ones and who where they by
  5. Did you even start the program?
  6. did you finish the program?
  7. Are you looking to invest in any programs in the near future, if so which ones?
  8. Do you have any friends that benefited from any of them and which ones?

You don’t need to answer all of them or maybe you only want to learn about what everyone has to say here.  Either way, I look forward to investing in The Elevation Group to see what it’s all about.  When I do I’ll keep you all posted.

The Cheap And Probably Drunk Wine Lady

As the administrator / moderator of the Jerseys website, I get some great emails here and there.  I often wonder how drunk they are when they are submitting comments.

At 10:30pm I received this email:  Questions / Comments: Do you have discounts on wine during your Happy Hours? If not, I wont\’ be there.

Really, if we don’t have a deal on what you drink you just simply won’t come down.  I wonder if she thinks if we didn’t have a deal, because she made the threat that I would give her a special deal?

I almost didn’t even respond, but then I thought about it.  I took her email, added it to the facebook search tool and found out who it was that wrote it.  The best part is she lives in New Ulm.  Why and the hell would a happy hour in Inver Grove Heights have any interest to this lady?  At least I will recognize her when she does come in.  Don’t worry, If I see her, I’m gonna be all over it.

You all think I’m a bad speller, look the way she spelled wont\’

She must have had a few bottles of wine before sending this one.
